Warren Gatland named a 27-man squad for the tests against South Africa and New Zealand. Jenkins was ruled out of the tour with a calf injury and was replaced by Craig Mitchell, with Scott Andrews called up to the stand-by list. Shane Williams also pulled out of the squad and was replaced by Will Harries, whilst James Hook was called up just for the game against South Africa. Andy Powell was also ruled out of the test matches, Gavin Thomas replacing him in the squad . Sam Warburton withdrew after the South Africa match due to injury and was replaced by Ian Gough.
